Floral Lucite Pendant.

Lucite is an acrylic invented by Du Pont and was used in WWII aircraft windows because of its clarity and strength, making it bulletproof.

After the war it was quickly taken up by an American company called Trifari as a cheaper alternative to gemstones and pearls in jewellery.

It is still used in aircraft and for many other things to this day.

This lovely floral piece is from the 1970's and is on a 3mm wide x45cm long leather cord.

The pendant is 30mm x 40mm.
